We are delighted to announce that Ann Greene, founder of Allagi, has become the first person in Ireland – and one of fewer than 50 people globally – to have been awarded the title of ‘Certified Organization Design Professional’ (CODP).
The certification programme for organisation design professionals is developed and managed jointly by the Organizational Design Community (ODC), Organization Design Forum (ODF), and the European Organisation Design Forum (EODF).
How CODP certification works
Certification serves as a quality mark for organisations seeking skilled professionals with practical and educational experience in organisation design. Certified professionals have been verified to have met a set of criteria in both education and practice over a period of two years.
Education is evaluated based on a set amount of units that must be gathered by the applicant through participating in organisation design courses, conferences, etc. Practice is evaluated based on a set amount of hours that the applicant must have been either 1) teaching organisation design-relevant subjects, or 2) consulting on / executing organisation design projects.
Applications are evaluated by a review committee consisting of leading academics and practitioners representing the three partner organisations.
Adherence to Best Practice
Commenting on her certification, Ann Greene said: “It is an absolute honour to be the first person in Ireland accredited as a ‘Certified Organization Design Professional’.
“Organisation design is still a relatively misunderstood discipline, often viewed in narrow terms as being purely about structure and organisation charts, but organisation design is about much more than just structure – it’s about taking a systemic and holistic approach to how all the different parts of an organisation are aligned and fit together, in order for that organisation to achieve its goals.
This professional certification programme will help raise its profile further. Certification serves as a guarantee to workplaces seeking to engage an organisation design professional that they are working with someone who adheres to best practice, and has the relevant experience to meet their needs.”
Ann’s Background
Ann founded Allagi 15 years ago, moving into HR and organisation development following a career in the hospitality industry. She has a particular interest in researching and exploring new forms of organisation design; and in developing the understanding and application of organisation design as a discipline.
